Bring the Best out of your Peas!
Roasting chickpeas only requires a few simple steps. You're only a few steps away from crunchy goodness! First rinse your chickpeas. If they are canned, drain them before rinsing. Next, place them into a large pot with the water a little higher than the chickpeas. This is so that the chickpeas have room to expand over twice its size. Throw away any lose skins and pat the chickpeas dry with a kitchen towel. if they are home cooked chickpeas then let them soak for an hour.
Now preheat the oven to 170C.
Now Season!
Now, add the chickpeas to a large bowl and mix them with a small amount of oil then add and mix all the spices until the chickpeas are completely coated in them.
Now for the Final Stretch!
All that's left is to place them in an oven tray with baking paper and have the peas spread then leave them to roast for 40-45 minutes, moving them around at 20 minutes. after 40 minutes, remove them from the oven and leave them to cool down as they will crisp up in that process and jus like that, you'll have your crispy roasted chickpeas. Feel free to add this as a side dish or add side dishes to it. If it brings the best out of your peas, just do it!
